This new seasonal latte is available hot or iced for a limited time.

If you want something a little more decadent, Starbucks has sugar cookie frappuccinos on the menu, as well.

What it Tastes Like

Wondering what a Sugar Cookie Latte from Starbucks taste like?

Starbucks Sugar Cookie holiday syrup adds flavor to both the lattes and frappuccinos.

In fact, the sugar cookie latte has an almost sweet buttery taste with notes of almond.

The flavor inspiration for the sugar cookie latte actually comes from traditional holiday spritz cookies and Starbucks says that the goal was to harness the buttery and vanilla notes of the cookie.

Starbucks adds, “The almond flavor from the almondmilk makes for a natural pairing with the nutty notes in Starbucks Blonde Espresso.”

Just like sugar cookies, this holiday treat is decorated with traditional red and green sprinkles!

The only thing lacking with these lattes in my opinion is a little holiday flair. But if dairy-free doesn’t matter to you, add a whipped cream topping just like the Chestnut Praline Latte and Caramel Brulee Latte.

What’s in a Starbucks Sugar Cookie Latte

Sugar Cookie Syrup + Blonde Roast Espresso + Steamed Almond Milk (or Ice & Milk) + Red & Green Sprinkle Topping

Starbucks Sugar Cookie lattes and frappuccinos are finished with red and green sprinkles.

Starbucks Sugar Cookie lattes are flavored with sugar cookie syrup, one of six holiday syrups and sauces available for 2022.

This coffee syrup flavor is sugar-based and dairy-free.

The topping itself is nothing fancy; simply red and green sugar sprinkles. In fact, the lattes don’t even have whipped cream.

Also of note, sugar cookie lattes are made with blonde espresso, a departure from the usual dark espresso Starbucks uses for most drinks. The blonde espresso brings a little nuttiness to the drink and a little bit more caffeine.

Ways to Customize a Sugar Cookie Latte at Starbucks

Decaf Sugar Cookie Latte: The Starbucks Sugar Cookie Latte recipe calls for blonde espresso roast making it one of Starbucks strongest drinks.

But, you can order it decaf by substituting blonde roast with decaf.

Sugar Cookie Latte with Whipped Cream: The Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte is a non-dairy holiday drink offering.

This means, unlike other Starbucks holiday lattes, it is not topped with whipped cream.

However, if you’re ok with adding dairy, then ask for whipped cream on top. As a bonus, the red and green sprinkles look really festive on a big swirl of whipped cream.

You can also select another Starbucks milk option, if desired.

Sugar Cookie Latte with Sweet Cream Cold Foam: The iced version of the dairy-free Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte does not come with a cream topping, however it’s popular to add a topping of vanilla sweet cream cold foam with sprinkles on top.

This customization does have an up-charge.
